I found them crying beside the sewer near our house. It was obvious that they were homeless and that someone left them there to die. They were so young. I was sure that they could not rely on their own.

I was lonely back then. My friends barely visited me and talked to me that time because they have their own busy lives. Uging had already left my side almost a year ago and there was no one else there to accompany me and cheer me anymore.

That’s why I took them in. They were sisters. At first they don’t trust me that easily, but persistence paid, and they get used to me, until finally they accepted the names I gave to each of them. They treated me like their real mother.

My graduation in college was supposed to be fun that day. But when I arrived home after the graduation rite, my father told me the sad news of one of the twins’ death. I was utterly heart-broken.

It was then that I decided to give all my love to her, the remaining one.

Time past and she grew and she grew beautiful. She finally manifested the real color of her eyes. I was so fascinated by her light-sage irises (which remind me of the eye-color of one of the characters in my novel), which I believe is very rare eye-color in her race. I was happy that there was such beauty that I reared in our home.

I always give my attention to her. She was part of my world. It warms my heart whenever she stares at me with those pearly sage eyes.

However, I noticed these past few days that she kept ignoring me. She won’t respond anymore whenever I call her name. She won’t eat the food I serve to her. But then, when my mother is the one that gave her the food, she eats it without hesitation. Hwaaah!!!! *being hysterical*. How could she do this to me!!!!? What have I done wrong?! It’s still the same food. But why won’t she eat it when I’m the one who gave it to her. She broke my heart!

One night, I saw it with my own eyes, just in front of me. My mother was sitting reading a book. I sat beside her. She.... she climbed up to my mother’s lap instead of mine! Why didn’t she lay on my lap to sleep? Could it be that she does not love me anymore????!!!! She love my mother more than me? Me, who had saved her life and took her in and reared her!!!?

Ah! The pain in my heart! The pain in my heart is too much to bare!!!!! My world is crumbling!! Ah! Maw-maw, please come back to me!!!! I’ll give an extra fish on your every meal if you do! Just give back your attention to me!!!
HWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
